Performs accounting duties of a complex nature requiring advanced professional experience, knowledge and competency in accounting principles and practices. ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration. Three or more years of professional accounting experience. Computer skills with knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and financial analysis software. Experience in implementing accounting systems, methods, procedures and controls. Demonstrates ability to work independently and to solve non-recurring problems. Demonstrates some degree of leadership ability. Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate information to appropriate parties. Shows evidence of good organization and project planning skills. TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Local Operating Procedures, Safety Program, Advanced Personal Computer and Systems Training, Cross-functional training through special projects. RELATIONSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES: No Supervisory duties, but may provide leadership and serve as a mentor to lower level accounting personnel. May review progress and work for accuracy and timeliness. Ability to identify root cause of problems and develop alternative solutions. Anticipates potential problems and proactively solves complex problems using internal and external resources. Under minimum supervision, performs assignments that are usually broad in nature and require initiative, judgment and creativity. May assist with training, monitoring and coaching less experienced staff. Regular internal and external contacts to furnish or obtain information and resolve problems. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITY: Works with broad discretion on assignments of varied, diverse and difficult nature. Receives objectives and guidelines for projects. Probable errors may be serious involving losses such as improper costs, failure to take discounts, overpayments, etc. All journal entries are reviewed to eliminate errors on Financial Statements as well as review of spreadsheets, reports, comparative analysis, and participation in meetings. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY AREAS: E - essential function or N - nonessential function of the job. E/N Duties and Responsibilities E Prepares specialized reporting and analysis in various accounting functions such as Restricted Stock and Stock Options, Payroll, Cash Accounting, etc. E Prepares month end closing journal vouchers, schedules, FRS (internal financial statements) and researches manager’s questions on cost center reports and other analysis. E Develops and implements complex or difficult accounting systems, methods, procedures and controls. E Performs general ledger system maintenance. E Provides analysis of various accounts and provides resolution and reconciliation within established time frames. E Prepares inter-company billing and reconciliation. E Be a back up for Cash accountant, knows ICMS and how to balance daily bank statement, provides accounting support to Treasury staffs. E Identifies and resolves situations not in compliance with Company’s internal controls and recommends improvements to the accounting process to optimize internal control. E Preparation of complex monthly, quarterly and annual internal and external reporting requirements. E Provides support in the budgeting process, including preparation and analysis. |
