DESCRIPTION:

Provides general medical care and treatment to patients in medical facility such as clinic, health center, or public health agency, under direction of Physician, by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the medical supervision and standing orders of the medical director of the clinic:
Advance Practice Nurse/Certified Nurse Midwife will function in accordance to guidelines provided by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners and the Board of Nursing Examiners with regards to practicing in ´sites serving medically undeserved populations´ and family clinics under contact with the Texas Department of Health.

Requirements:
College Degree
Must embrace and actively promote a total customer service orientation.
Current RN license in the State of Texas.
Advance Practice Nurse and Certified Nurse Midwife: Approval by Board of Nurse Examiners as Advance Practice Nurse.
Eligibility for certification or certification as Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Midwife by the national certifying board.
Up to date CPR certification.

Education and/or Experience:
Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
