Over 200 contact hours of continued education with content including primary medicine, pharmacological treatments, suturing, hypertension, asthma, diabetes, etc. Comprehensive assessments that are inclusive of subjective/ROS and objective information. Assess for syndromes, constellations of symptoms that may be manifestations of other health problems. Assess health status and identify risk factors for all age groups. Identify both typical and atypical manifestations of chronic and acute illnesses and diseases. Interpret results of appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests. Promote and recommend immunizations and appropriate health screenings. Recognize the need for collaboration of care. Apply evidenced-based protocols and processes of care to reduce adverse events.

October 2007 to present. 
Practice has an expanded scope of patients in this new clinic. Treatments include everything from Diabetes, to infant vaccines.
 
Corner Care Clinic, 08-01-07 - 08-27-07 (part-time). Conducted physicals, assessed for respiratory illnesses, diarrhea, flu, and allergies. Immunizations, minor injuries and illnesses. Business closed due to funding problems.
   
Family Nurse Practitioner-10-16-06 - 5-25-07 (part-time)
Conducted physicals, gynecological exams, children to elderly exams. Conducted subjective and objective assessments. Made assessments and plans of care. Reviewed labs and tests to determine clinical significance, medication intervention, need for referral and/or change of diagnosis. Educated patients about clinical status, ways to promote good health, new research, side effects of medications, and medication interactions. Treated everything from hypertension, anemia, to common old. Admitted patients for things like treatment for pyelonephritis, and appendicitis. Made admission orders, and contact appropriate referrals, i.e., surgeons.

Performed cardiac monitoring, mixed cardiac intravenous drips, blood product infusions, drew blood, and monitored/provided overall nursing care.  Units worked included Intensive Care Unit, Skilled Rehabilitation, and Medical Surgical.
